How far we’ve come…

How far we’ve come…

The nights are drawing in, but our team of thirteen are devoted and ready to entertain on the 8th November 2019, at the Theatre Absolute, a different space to usual, for our play. Looking back, I didn’t realise how far we had come on from the first week of rehearsals. Coming together as a stronger unit, after creating two original shows with the hidden meaning of ‘not everyone is as they seem’, in a village plagued by a werewolf problem, and another show about the hidden dangers of time travel, each play had a strong message to give while retaining laughter.

Those shows were packed with family members and organisations that have supported us in our growth from a fledgling theatre company that gives every performer time to develop their acting skills and the confidence to grow. I have now joined another company, as well, and will be touring with them next year, but the one I’m most proud of is the pantomime that we have coming up. It shows that we have grown diversely in using everyone’s hidden talents; like Cecelia’s passion for creating props or Sue’s costume jewellery collection, and you’ll always find that everyone has brought ideas or items to be involved in at the plays we have created.

We start by mostly mind mapping ideas previously used on all our shows, carefully making sure we don’t have any overlaps of doing the same things twice, which can be quite challenging at times. We hope that people will see more hidden meanings and be able to have frank discussions around our third and funniest play yet.
