Exhibition and Celebration

Exhibition and Celebration

On Thursday 15th May members were proud to attend the Creative Learning Space, Warwick Arts Centre for an exhibition and celebration event marking the end of a co-created song writing project funded by Warwick Institute of Engagement. The project featured a series of collaborative song making workshops, song facilitation led by Wes, and previous member Johnny. This brilliant project even made it’s way onto the BBC!

On the day of the exhibition Underground Lights staff, volunteers, and members met at Coventry Bus Station to travel together to the University of Warwick. We were heading to Warwick Arts Centre to see the exhibition celebrating our co-created song-making project.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by more of our members, university staff, and members of the public. It was fantastic to see the beautiful photos taken by Fai and how she and Ogohi, both research assistants, had curated the exhibition with care and creativity. Huge thanks Nadine too for her care and support throughout in making this possible.

Everyone enjoyed some delicious food, admired the photos and write-ups, and listened to recordings of the songs we created together. As Wes said ‘It’s like a party!’ It was a joyful celebration of shared creativity and collaboration.

A huge thank you to everyone who made it such a fun and memorable day.
