I am a community arts producer and musician, I applied to work with Underground Lights because I love making art with people that don’t always think of themselves as artists. Making and sharing arts in unexpected venues, community and public spaces is something I think is super important, everybody needs art, makes art and should have access to it!
Outside of my role I enjoy watching and learning about new music, particularly folk and traditional music that tell great tales of migration and change. I also work with other organisations to support womxn in music – providing professional development opportunities to people facing cultural barriers to their creative careers.
I’ve worked in advocacy for looked after children, youth arts, hospitality and managed artist-led spaces, I’ve had lots of experiences to help me prepare for my roles today, but I’m always learning and expanding my perspectives at Underground Lights!
